Launching HANAH Ashwagandha—adaptogenic super plant

We’re excited to launch our third product, HANAH Ashwagandha. This potent adaptogenic herb is considered one of the most powerful in Ayurvedic medicine and has been used for thousands of years to promote overall physical and mental health, bring the body into balance and increase longevity.

A recent study by The Journal of Ayurveda Integrated Medicine concluded that “ashwagandha improved the cardiorespiratory endurance of elite athletes,” so it's no surprise that it has quickly become a favorite amongst our HANAH Heroes like Jimmy Chin and Ian Walsh due to these benefits for athletes

Plant power

Medical researchers are fascinated with ashwagandha and have conducted hundreds of scientific studies on its healing powers. Research has shown this super-herb enhances mental clarity, concentration and alertness. It improves energy, performance and sleep while at the same time reducing stress, anxiety and fatigue.

It has also been shown to possess anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and rejuvenating properties. Called the queen of adaptogenic herbs, ashwagandha supports the body as a whole rather than targeting specific symptoms.

HANAH Hero Angel Collinson adds, “Ashwagandha has so many amazing health benefits, one of which is helping to support and balance the thyroid, which can be particularly helpful for women dealing with high amounts of stress both mentally and physically (all its adaptogenic properties make it just as beneficial for men as well).”

The Ayurvedic way

HANAH Ashwagandha is wild-harvested from where it grows naturally and organically in Southern India. Like all HANAH products, we have triple tested this herb for purity and potency. It is produced in the traditional Ayurvedic way; the root is first soaked in nutrient-dense grass-fed cow’s milk before it is turned into a fine powder. This ancient method increases the herb’s bioavailability and helps soften the typical bitter taste of the root.

Ashwagandha and cow's milk are both considered to be a rasayanaa category of Ayurvedic supplements that balance the body's internal systems and nourish the body in a holistic way. This combo makes it easier for the body to absorb and is great for long-term daily use.

How to use it

In Ayurveda, ashwagandha powder is traditionally mixed with warm milk, ghee or honey, making HANAH Ashwagandha the perfect complement to blend with both HANAH ONE and Vechur Ghee.

We recommend starting with a heaping teaspoon (5 grams) per day. You can add it to a smoothie, tea or coffee, or dissolve a teaspoon in a cup of warm water (which is Dr. Venugopal’s favorite way).
